Stuart Wilson, Shirlaws Group
Stuart is a Group Partner at Shirlaws Group, a portfolio of companies that advise private enterprises how to grow, fund or exit their business and enjoy their life’s work.
Prior to this, Stuart enjoyed almost thirty years working with some of the world’s favourite food brands. He recently left Burton’s Biscuits, having joined in 2010, initially as Chief Marketing Officer, and then as Chief Commercial Officer. He was part of the management team that transformed the business resulting in the sale of the company to Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, having created significant shareholder value. Burton’s won the Marketing Society’s Excellence Award for Marketing Leadership in 2014 in recognition of the transformation of the portfolio and the Marketing team.
Prior to Burton’s, Stuart held increasingly senior Marketing and Strategy positions with Cadbury, Kraft Foods and Premier Foods in various UK, International (New York) and European (Zurich) roles.
Stuart is a Fellow of the Marketing Society, has an MBA (with distinction) from the University of Warwick and a BA (Hons) in History from the University of Manchester. He is married with three teenagers, which is all the challenge and reward one needs in life in itself, and very much loves walking the dog in Buckinghamshire and Dorset when not watching rugby or cricket.
