Mahmood Ahmed, Chief Operating Officer, Marketing, HSBC

Mahmood is the Chief Operating Officer for Marketing for Global Commercial Banking and Global Banking & Markets.

Within his role Mahmood has global oversight of HSBC's entire Business-to-Business marketing function and resources, which covers over 50 countries and territories. This includes all aspects of strategic marketing planning and marketing effectiveness, as well as operational control and governance of all marketing investment and people resources. He also leads a global team, based both in London and across 7 regions, to ensure the marketing function delivers against its agreed marketing plans, supports the HSBC growth strategy and objectives.

Prior to his time in Global Marketing, Mahmood was Head of Business Performance for UK Commercial Banking and he has also undertaken a number of other roles within the HSBC Group. Mahmood is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and worked in the auditing and accounting profession before his time with HSBC.

He enjoys watching most sports, particularly cricket, rugby union, tennis and football. He has a real passion for photography, film and the theatre and plays squash regularly.
